Indian badminton player Ashmita Chaliha secured her first BWF World Tour title by overcoming China’s Han Qianxi 14-21, 21-14, 21-14 in the women’s singles final of the Korea Masters. The 26-year-old recovered from an opening-set loss to claim the victory and become the fifth Indian woman to win a Super 300 or higher event on the tour. After an even start in the first game, Han pulled ahead to win 21-14. Chaliha responded in the second set with strong attacking shots and steady defense, building a lead at the interval and closing 21-14. In the deciding game both players traded points early, but Chaliha took control in the later stages with accurate winners and aggressive play to reach 19-14 and seal the match when her opponent hit long. The result places her alongside Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Devika Sihag and Tanvi Sharma as Indian winners of major World Tour titles.
