An examination of mutual fund ownership patterns in BSE small-cap stocks across recent quarters shows a clear change. In the June 2026 period, funds lowered stakes in 83 companies. This followed two earlier quarters of increased positions between September 2025 and March 2026.
Of the affected stocks, 41 have recorded gains in calendar year 2026. Thirteen rose more than 50 percent, including two that doubled. Yet 12 stocks fell 20 to 40 percent in the same span, pointing to varied outcomes across the market.
