Sunny Deol has highlighted Preity Zinta’s vibrant personality as the two actors reunite for the film Batwara 1947. He compared her to a bubble that enjoys everything. The project marks Zinta’s return to cinema after eight years and pairs her once more with Deol, following their earlier collaboration in Bhaiaji Superhit from 2018. The story is set during India’s Partition and centers on a family compelled to abandon its home amid social upheaval. In an interview, Deol noted that working with Zinta again has been enjoyable and described her lively nature as adding warmth and emotional depth to her character, Hamida Mirza. He said she brings beauty, sweetness and happiness to the role. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is set in Lahore after Partition. It follows the Mirza family’s move from Lucknow and their receipt of a property left by departing owners. The narrative focuses on personal experiences rather than political events alone. Batwara 1947 is scheduled for theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
