Police in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district have registered a case against five men after two Dalit residents alleged they faced caste-based insults and were forced from their chairs to sit on the ground during an Independence Day program at a government school. The incident occurred on August 15 in Bhakliya village. An FIR was filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, with further inquiry ongoing. The complainants, Rameshwarlal Bairwa and Gopilal Bairwa, stated they were attending the event with other community members when the accused approached, used abusive language, and demanded they vacate the chairs. The five named individuals are local residents. The complainants reported being threatened and humiliated in front of students, teachers, and villagers. They also claimed the accused threatened to close a local Anganwadi center employing two Scheduled Caste women. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Joshi is leading the investigation.
