The World Bank, in its June 2026 Global Economic Prospects report released last week, projected India’s economy to grow 6.6% in FY27. This follows an estimated 7.7% expansion in FY26 and precedes a rebound to 7.2% in FY28. At the same time, the bank lowered projections for several major economies including China, Thailand, Türkiye, Brazil and parts of West Asia. It warned that global growth could slow to its weakest pace since the pandemic.
