K. Annamalai, who recently left the BJP to form his own political party, characterized the initial 100 days of actor-turned-politician Vijay’s administration as bringing a fresh breath to Tamil Nadu politics. However, he noted the lack of a clear vision from the new government so far.
Evaluating the TVK-led government, Annamalai highlighted the presence of young legislators and shifts in political culture as positive aspects. He acknowledged genuine efforts to address corruption but criticized the administration for being driven by bureaucrats and lacking a well-defined political vision.
At the India Today Tamil Nadu Roundtable in Chennai, Annamalai praised the improved conduct of legislators. He expressed hope that the participation of younger members, who speak more freely without seeking constant approval, would continue.
Annamalai also noted the government’s apparent stance against corruption, based on observations of contracts. On the negative side, he pointed out the absence of a clear roadmap for the state after 100 days.
