The detention of two suspected drug peddlers in Indore has sparked political controversy. Police reported that the confiscated narcotics were intended for Nana Patwari, brother of Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat told reporters that Rajendra Nagar officers arrested Irfan Khan, also called Golu Chanderi, and Rani Bhai. They recovered 10.8 grams of brown sugar from the pair, and formal charges are being prepared.
According to the officer, the suspects stated during questioning that the drugs were meant for two recipients, one being Nana Patwari. His criminal history includes nine prior cases.
