Goa Police have filed an FIR against unidentified backers of CJP and demonstrators for unlawful assembly and staging the event without prior state approval. On Saturday evening officers detained a man at Azad Maidan in Panaji after he displayed a placard reading “Free Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Bhima Koregaon 16”. The gathering aimed to express solidarity with protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and to note the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Police said the incident occurred around 7 pm while participants raised slogans. After local media questioned the man, officers asked for identification, which he did not have.
