A group accused of targeting motorists has been linked to a series of incidents along National Highway 65 in Telangana. Local authorities in Sangareddy have taken three people into custody following investigations into robberies that occurred at night.

The suspects are reported to have approached cars that were parked along the highway after dark. They allegedly carried a replica air pistol and knives during these encounters. Victims were reportedly relieved of valuables including gold ornaments.

After the incidents, the group is said to have arranged the sale of the stolen gold items through an associate located in Latur. This method allowed them to convert the proceeds while avoiding direct traceability.

Police in Sangareddy began probing the pattern of nighttime robberies on the highway stretch. Their efforts led to the identification and detention of the three individuals believed to be part of the gang.

Investigators have indicated that the suspects intended to carry out further similar crimes in other parts of Telangana. The arrests are expected to disrupt those plans.

Highway safety concerns have been highlighted by the case, as parked vehicles became easy targets during low-traffic hours. Authorities continue to monitor the area to prevent recurrence.

The investigation remains active as officers gather additional details about the gang’s operations and any other potential members. Community members have been urged to report suspicious activity near highways promptly.

This development underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing opportunistic crimes on major routes. The Sangareddy police have emphasized their commitment to maintaining security for travelers.

Further updates are anticipated as the case progresses through the judicial process. The three detained individuals are currently in custody pending additional inquiries.
