Mumbai Police have registered a case against Arunkumar, consulting editor of Reporter TV Malayalam, following a complaint by Bajrang Dal. The complaint alleges that remarks made by Arunkumar could incite violence. The comments were made during coverage of a protest rally organized by the Cockroach Janata Party in Delhi on June 6. The event had lower turnout than expected. In a discussion on his channel, Arunkumar expressed disappointment that Delhi had not caught fire that evening, referencing a quote from a German playwright about cities responding to youth protests. Critics claimed the remarks encouraged unrest. Bajrang Dal workers filed the complaint at Charkop Police Station, leading to legal action. Arunkumar has previously made statements critical of Hindutva, the BJP, the RSS and Narendra Modi. He also faced controversy earlier over comments on vegetarian food at a state school youth festival.
