Karnataka intends to pursue collaborations with Israel on cybersecurity innovation, startup growth, talent training, research efforts, and safeguarding critical digital systems, stated IT/BT secretary N Manjula on Wednesday during the Karnataka-Israel Cyber Dialogue 2026. Ten Israeli cybersecurity firms joined the event, showcasing technologies and meeting Karnataka companies and startups. Manjula noted that cybersecurity now represents an economic necessity, a governance focus, and a key element for digital trust. The state has launched the Centre for Cybersecurity Karnataka (CySecK) to handle awareness, skill development, startup support, and partnerships. Israel’s consul general for south India, Orli Weitzman, suggested combining Israeli expertise with Karnataka’s technology talent, research strengths, and startup scene. Knowledge exchanges have included Tel Aviv University. Karnataka is considering wider ties with global cybersecurity networks and the option of hosting Cybertech in Bengaluru. Discussion outcomes will form a white paper to guide future state policy.
