In Maharashtra’s Latur district, a 25-year-old woman reportedly took her own life and that of her two young children by leaping into a well amid ongoing family conflicts.
Authorities state that the incident occurred late Sunday night, stemming from persistent household issues. The bodies were discovered on Monday afternoon.
The deceased woman was named Nikita Amardip Bhure. Police reports indicate she had been dealing with marital difficulties for an extended period. The argument with her husband, Amardip, intensified on Sunday evening and persisted into the early hours.
Overwhelmed, Nikita is said to have departed her home around 1:30 a.m. with her five-year-old daughter, Shivani, and three-year-old son, Shivansh, proceeding to a nearby well.
When the family noticed their absence on Monday morning, a search ensued without success. The bodies were later spotted in the well near their residence that afternoon.
Villagers alerted the police upon seeing the bodies.
Officers arrived promptly and, with assistance from locals, retrieved the remains from the well.
The bodies underwent autopsy, a case was filed, and an inquiry continues.
