Formula One driver Charles Leclerc has agreed to a new multiyear contract with Ferrari, the team announced on Wednesday. The 28-year-old has competed for Ferrari since 2019 after joining its academy in 2016.
Only Michael Schumacher has recorded more starts for the team than Leclerc, who also ranks second in pole positions. He has yet to claim a drivers’ title.
Leclerc stated he was delighted to extend his time with Ferrari. He noted the team had experienced both highs and lows together but expressed strong confidence in their shared future and determination to return the championship to Maranello.
The announcement precedes his home race at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, where he hopes to repeat his victory from 2024.
Leclerc has partnered with Lewis Hamilton for the past year and a half and has outperformed the seven-time champion. He finished ahead of Hamilton in the 2025 standings and currently holds third place in 2026, three points ahead after five rounds.
