A 13-year-old pupil in Kerala has reported being subjected to repeated sexual harassment by several classmates over a period of months. The claims have led to a police inquiry and a suo motu notice by the State Child Rights Commission.

Police reports indicate the alleged events occurred in May at various sites, such as school grounds, the home of one accused, and a school restroom. Ten individuals, including one girl, have been named in the complaint. Six of those named are under age.

The matter surfaced when the teenager shared details during a school counselling session. Authorities at Childline were informed and they notified the police. Investigators have begun recording statements and gathering evidence based on the account provided.

Officers are examining whether the case links to another sexual assault incident reported in the same area about 18 months earlier. All aspects of the allegations are under review.

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken note of media coverage, opened a suo motu case, and requested a full report from police on the events and inquiry status.

The incident has renewed attention on child safety in schools and the importance of early detection systems for abuse. It also highlights the value of counselling services in enabling victims to come forward.

The investigation remains active, with further steps to follow from collected evidence and statements.
