The National Investigation Agency carried out searches at 20 sites spanning nine states and one Union Territory on Wednesday as part of an inquiry into an online radicalisation matter. The case involves suspected efforts to spread the ideologies of ISIS and Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent while seeking to create an Islamic state in India through violent means. Locations included Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi. Officials recovered several digital devices during the operation, which will undergo forensic analysis. To date, authorities have detained 11 individuals and taken one minor into custody.
