Fresh CCTV images have renewed focus on the death of a nine-year-old girl who fell from the fourth floor of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur last November. The recording, shared by the girl’s parents, depicts events leading to the incident and is presented as proof that the Class 4 pupil faced repeated bullying from peers while her requests for assistance went unheeded by staff.
The family has accused police of inaction and called for stricter application of the Juvenile Justice Act against the principal, chairman and class teacher.
Footage shows the child fell nearly 48 feet from the fourth-floor railing on November 1. She was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Parents have stated that ongoing bullying and lack of school response led to the act. They have sought details on classroom events before the fall.
The latest recording, with added narration from the family, shows the girl entering class, greeting a friend and joining a dance activity. It then depicts a digital slate brought in by other pupils. The narration claims repeated displays of the device caused her visible distress. She is shown approaching the teacher several times but being interrupted by classmates. Her body language indicates growing anxiety before she runs out alone. No staff followed her, according to the account.
The parents allege gross negligence and inadequate safety measures. The mother criticised police handling and questioned oversight by the principal. She said the girl sought help but was ignored. The father alleged interference in the investigation.
Police have included the school owner, principal and class teacher in a chargesheet under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections for alleged criminal negligence.
