Assets under management for Specialised Investment Funds increased 29 percent month-on-month to Rs 17,858 crore in June from Rs 13,814 crore in May. Total inflows rose 171 percent to Rs 3,782 crore from Rs 1,396 crore, based on the ValueMetrics Mutual Fund and SIF Flow Meter report for July 2026. Hybrid Long-Short Funds remained the largest segment, representing 67 percent of SIF assets at Rs 11,910 crore as of June 30, with an average folio size of Rs 35 lakh. Hybrid strategies overall made up 72 percent of SIF assets, totaling Rs 12,822 crore and an average folio of Rs 32.7 lakh. Equity-oriented strategies accounted for the remaining 28 percent, or Rs 5,036 crore, with an average folio of Rs 14.1 lakh. Overall average folio size across SIFs stood at Rs 23.8 lakh. Hybrid Long-Short Funds drew Rs 2,043 crore in June inflows, up 189 percent from Rs 707 crore in May. Since October 2024, this category has attracted Rs 11,568 crore cumulatively, or 66 percent of all SIF inflows. Equity-oriented strategies received Rs 1,097 crore in June, a 68 percent increase from Rs 652 crore in May, bringing cumulative inflows since October 2024 to Rs 4,938 crore or 28 percent of total SIF inflows. Overall SIF inflows since October 2024 reached Rs 17,407 crore. The wider mutual fund sector also showed strong participation in June. Industry AUM grew to Rs 82.2 lakh crore. Net inflows into active equity and hybrid funds reached about Rs 36,000 crore, driven by ongoing retail SIP activity and interest in equity products. Active equity funds saw gross inflows of Rs 67,601 crore, up from Rs 57,604 crore in May. SIP contributions climbed to Rs 31,781 crore, with SIP assets at Rs 17.70 lakh crore. Hybrid funds excluding arbitrage recorded net inflows of Rs 7,163 crore versus Rs 4,862 crore the prior month. Gold ETFs reversed to net inflows of Rs 3,443 crore after outflows of Rs 725 crore in May. Active equity funds posted net inflows of Rs 28,973 crore. Outstanding SIP accounts rose to 10.52 crore.
