CCTV footage captured a domestic assault on a busy road in Surat, Gujarat, where a man blocked his estranged wife’s scooter, dragged her by the hair and struck her repeatedly while threatening her life. The 46-year-old suspect stopped his car in front of the scooter on Saturday, forcing her to halt before exiting and confronting her in public. The couple had been living apart amid a pending court case and have two daughters, each residing with one parent. During the attack the man also insulted the woman’s relatives. Passersby attempted to intervene but the assault continued until a female traffic officer arrived. The suspect, who runs a travel business, fled in his car but was arrested hours after the woman lodged a complaint. Police said the pair crossed paths unexpectedly before the daylight incident.
