A political party founder stated on Thursday that the climate activist appears critically weak after nearly three weeks without food. The activist began an open-ended fast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on June 28, calling for the education minister to step down following repeated exam paper leaks, including in NEET. The party leader noted visible bone structure and two near-falls while the activist moved to the restroom with assistance. Social media clips showed the individual walking slowly with help yet pausing to greet arriving students and parents. Despite repeated requests to stop, the activist refused, insisting the government must respond first. Medical experts reported that the fast has reached a serious phase, with warnings that organs could soon be affected. The Delhi High Court ordered daily monitoring and immediate care if needed, stressing that every life must be protected. A doctor said the activist has lost over nine kilograms and now weighs 56.9 kg, with elevated uric acid showing muscle breakdown. The activist later released a message saying tests remain stable for this stage and the fast can continue, urging supporters to join a planned march on July 20. Political figures, including the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and an opposition leader, visited the site and backed the demands.
