Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni responded on Friday to questions about Messi’s future with the national team after the World Cup final. The 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina could be Lionel Messi’s last match in the national colours. Messi, aged 39, realised his World Cup ambition by lifting the trophy in Qatar in 2022 and hopes to add further achievements with a possible third final appearance. Scaloni said the player himself is best placed to answer questions about his future with the team after Sunday’s final.
