Actress Eva Grover has spoken publicly about alleged physical abuse during her marriage to Hyder Ali Khan, Aamir Khan’s stepbrother. Known for roles in shows such as Karishma Kaa Karishma and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, she shared details in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Grover said she met Hyder through a mutual acquaintance and the relationship progressed rapidly. After eighteen days of dating, he proposed, leading the pair to elope in 2000 despite her mother’s opposition. She stated that Hyder had schizophrenia, a condition unknown to her before the wedding. Grover alleged that on the third day of marriage, he assaulted her during an intimate encounter, leaving bruises. She described growing suspicion and paranoia from him, worsened by heavy drinking over their five-year union. Despite repeated violence, she attempted to preserve the marriage until the birth of their daughter, after which divorce followed and she returned to her mother’s home. Grover noted that Aamir Khan was reportedly aware of her difficulties and had advised against the union. She expressed ongoing humanitarian concern for Hyder’s current hardships, including lack of housing and support, while wishing him peace.
