Sulvinder Samra, the former wife of television doctor Ranj Singh, said she was overwhelmed by messages of support after sharing her experiences of their divorce. She described struggling with feelings of shame, isolation and inadequacy following the end of the marriage. The couple met in 2003, married two years later and separated in 2011 after Dr Singh came out as gay. After posting about her emotions on Instagram, Samra received numerous replies from people who related to her account. In a follow-up video, she thanked followers for their messages and noted that sharing her story had pushed her beyond her comfort zone. She added that turning 45 had prompted her to reassess her life and career. Her comments followed Dr Singh’s own remarks about revealing his sexuality to her and his family. He has since made his relationship with actor James Coldenbrook public.
