The Alliance Française de Karachi organized a joint performance by French and Pakistani musicians to promote cultural connections. The Fête de la Musique 2026 took place at the Arts Council in Karachi as part of the worldwide music festival and attracted a large audience. The program included artists from multiple genres. Performers were Areeb Ali Khan, Akhri Cigarette, Saffron Sweaters, French singer-songwriter Clément Visage and DJ SQLN. The festival serves as a key annual event for the organization and highlights music as a shared form of expression. It seeks to strengthen links between French and Pakistani communities via artistic collaboration. Areeb Ali Khan began the evening with an acoustic set of original songs, including his recent single Safar. Akhri Cigarette followed with alternative rock numbers, highlighted by a cover of Purple Rain. Saffron Sweaters presented atmospheric tracks inspired by northern Pakistan. DJ SQLN then played electronic music that encouraged dancing. Clément Visage closed the night with French-language songs. The event demonstrated music’s capacity to bridge communities across borders.
