A software engineer of Indian origin from Hyderabad died in a road collision in New Jersey just days before a scheduled trip to India. Sripathi Deepa Reddy, 42, who came from Aakuthotapalli village in Telangana’s Rangareddy district, had lived in the United States with her husband Ramakrishna Reddy since 2008. The couple, both working in software, have two daughters.

The crash happened while she drove her husband to a metro station. Initial reports state that another vehicle hit her car, causing fatal injuries at the site. Police took the other driver into custody and are examining the details of the incident.

She had planned to fly to India within two days, adding to the family’s distress. Relatives noted the trip had been arranged earlier. The family home is in Teachers Colony, Hastinapuram, Hyderabad.

An unverified video on social media reportedly shows police at the scene with two wrecked cars. The investigation continues.
