An Indian IT professional died after his vehicle was swept away by flash floodwaters in Kansas amid severe storms over the weekend. Witnesses notified authorities after seeing the car submerge near a bridge with the driver inside, according to PTI. Strong currents initially blocked rescue attempts, and the body was recovered the next day following a multi-agency search. The victim was identified as Venkatesh Doppalapudi, 33, an H-1B visa holder from Omaha, Nebraska. He was driving north from Houston when storms dropped over six inches of rain in south-central Kansas. The Indian Consulate in Houston expressed condolences and said it is assisting the family while coordinating with local authorities. Emergency teams, including the Kansas Highway Patrol air unit and drones, responded to the scene near Wellington, with the body recovered on Sunday.
