An Indian-origin family of three who fell from a high-rise apartment block in south London has been named as Aditi Vijay Paralkar, 46, her husband Rakesh Narayan Pai, 47, and their nine-year-old son Sid Pai Paralkar. Police and ambulance crews were called to Churchyard Row in Elephant and Castle shortly after 7.30am on 27 May after reports of three people falling from height. The family is understood to have dropped from the balcony of their 36th-floor flat in the 45-storey Highpoint building. The incident is being treated as a suspected murder-suicide while investigations continue. The couple had lived in London since the early 2000s and ran a consultancy firm. Reports indicate the family faced considerable pressure because of their son’s serious medical conditions, including an inability to speak, learning difficulties and kidney disease. Friends said the mother had experienced depression linked to caregiving demands. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation while inquiries proceed.
