BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has been involved in a public exchange over her comments on student protests. The dispute began after her criticism of the Cockroach Janta Party movement that arose from demonstrations at Jantar Mantar. Kangana called social media videos from the protests “puke-inducing” and described the movement as “generation gutter.” CJP spokesperson Saurav Das responded by questioning whether anyone takes her seriously. He told ANI that even members of her own party pay little attention to her and suggested younger generations do not listen to her views. He noted videos from her visit to her constituency in Himachal Pradesh where she said she expected the parliamentary role to require little work but found it demanding. Kangana replied that she searched for information on the 28-year-old spokesperson and questioned his claim to be a student. She stated she has been in public life for 20 years and had won two National Awards at his age. She added that as a new parliamentarian she was also a filmmaker, performer, producer, screenwriter and entrepreneur, and described him as unemployed. She suggested he learn a skill. Saurav later posted on Instagram Stories inviting her to discuss calmly. Another CJP spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, accused her of insulting protesters and referenced the resignation of a union minister. Kangana’s initial remarks followed alleged abusive comments aimed at the prime minister, which she called unacceptable.
