Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra announced a $250 million investment in Trump Accounts to mark America’s 250th anniversary on July 4. The company will match up to $1,000 per child for U.S. employees and provide $250 seed funding for every child in communities across seven states. Mehrotra described the move as support for the American Dream and noted it complements over $200 billion in U.S. manufacturing investments creating more than 90,000 jobs. President Trump praised the pledge as the largest of its kind and called Micron a great American company. Trump Accounts allow U.S. citizen children under 18 with a valid Social Security number to receive contributions, including a one-time $1,000 federal seed for those born between 2025 and 2028. Funds remain invested until age 18. Micron, founded in 1978 and based in Boise, Idaho, produces memory and storage chips. Mehrotra, born in India, has led the firm since 2019 after co-founding SanDisk.
