Videos frequently highlight Indians appearing in locations worldwide, including tourists, students and families in major overseas cities. This visibility prompted a Mumbai-based content creator to attempt a straightforward challenge in New York’s Times Square by counting Indians encountered. The creator, Prannay Joshi, recorded the effort in an Instagram video. He started a one-hour timer at 9:57 pm and entered the area, approaching groups with the question, “Are you from India?” while tracking responses. The first group included 12 Indians. Within 15 minutes the total reached 32. The goal of 100 was met in 48 minutes. The video drew online comments, with users noting the ease of spotting Indians in tourist spots and suggesting similar challenges in other cities with large Indian populations, such as London, Toronto or Dubai.
