Following his debut film Rocky, director Arun Matheswaran continues to examine themes of violence and human flaws in his new work DC. The title refers to the main characters Devadas, portrayed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in his first lead role, and Chandra, played by Wamiqa Gabbi. The story centers on Devadas, a gangster dealing with loss, and Chandra, a sex worker who endured exploitation from a young age. They become connected while confronting corrupt police officers. The narrative draws loose inspiration from a classic literary tale but adapts it to a modern gangster context with moral ambiguity. Action sequences stand out for their choreography, including a notable shootout at a wedding venue. However, the frequent violence eventually feels repetitive and lacks sufficient emotional backing. The central relationship between the leads receives limited development, leaving the overall narrative feeling familiar yet only partially effective. The film runs 142 minutes and features supporting performances by Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Krish Dayal and Thalaivasal Vijay.
