The International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group, has returned as an anchor investor in India’s mainboard IPO market after five years by committing Rs 20 crore to Molbio Diagnostics. The Goa-based diagnostics firm raised Rs 281 crore from anchor investors ahead of its public issue scheduled to open on August 10 and close on August 12. HDFC Mutual Fund led the anchor book with Rs 35 crore spread across four schemes. Molbio also completed a secondary share sale at Rs 807 per share before the IPO. Several alternative investment funds and institutions acquired shares worth Rs 160 crore in secondary transactions. Brokerages including BP Wealth, Swastika Investmart, Ventura Securities and SBI Securities have recommended subscribing to the Rs 940 crore issue. The company plans to allocate fresh issue proceeds toward research facilities, equipment purchases and general corporate needs.
