An activist has asked Safdarjung Hospital officials for permission to leave temporarily in order to participate in the Cockroach Janta Party’s ‘Chalo Parliament’ march scheduled for Monday. In a handwritten note to the medical superintendent, he stated that he felt well and his vital signs were normal, requesting short-term discharge to join the procession to Parliament. The hospital issued a statement confirming that the patient continues to receive full medical attention, with stable vital signs but ongoing need for monitoring of blood parameters by a specialist team. It added that continued intervention and supervision are required to manage any complications. The Delhi High Court agreed to hear a petition from the activist’s wife challenging an earlier ruling that denied transfer to another facility. Her counsel argued that the individual had been admitted without notice from the site of a protest and should be allowed care at a hospital of his choosing, noting that no criminal charges apply. A bench led by the Chief Justice scheduled the matter for later the same day.
