Singapore Consul General in Chennai Edgar Pang Tze Chiang met Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh at his residence on Monday to explore ways to deepen ties between the state and Singapore.

Lokesh requested Singapore’s help to expand cooperation in technology, trade, investments and the maritime sector. He presented the state government’s Speed of Doing Business initiative and outlined investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.

The minister stressed converting investment proposals into on-ground projects, noting that about 750 projects are at various stages of implementation across the state. He added that 22 industrial clusters are being developed to support industrial growth.

Lokesh said investments by globally reputed companies such as Google and ArcelorMittal reflect investor confidence in the coalition government. He also highlighted education sector reforms and shared observations from his recent visit to Russia.

Chiang observed that Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a leading investment destination and praised the pace of development. He assured continued Singapore support to strengthen the partnership with the state.
