Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has issued the admit cards for the 2026 School Entrance Test (SET) as of today. Per the notification dated February 20, applicants who have registered can access their hall tickets starting April 11. The examination period commences on April 22, 2026.
This entrance exam enables boys to gain entry into Classes 9 and 11 at Central Hindu Boys School, and girls into Class 11 across various streams at Central Hindu Girls School via a unified test. Seat allocations for boys include 76 in Class 9, 54 in Class 11 Mathematics, 27 in Class 11 Biology, 14 in Class 11 Arts, and 13 in Class 11 Commerce. For girls in Class 11, there are 13 seats in Mathematics, 13 in Biology, and 15 in Arts.
Eligibility Criteria for Non-Internal Applicants
Non-internal candidates applying via the 2026 SET need to meet these requirements:
– For Class 11 admission, at least 33% marks in Class 10.
– All applicants, including children of BHU staff, require a minimum of 33% in the entrance test.
– For SC, ST, and DIVYANG (limited to Orthopedically Handicapped-OH) categories, the threshold is 25% in the SET.
Applicants should be aware that stream assignments in Class 11 depend on the overall percentage from Class 10 board exams for internal students and the SET score for external ones.
Examination Timetable for BHU SET 2026
The institution will hold the entrance tests between April 22 and 26. The schedule for registered participants is as follows:
– Class 11 Arts: April 22, 2026
– Class 11 Commerce: April 23, 2026
– Class 11 Biology: April 24, 2026
– Class 11 Mathematics: April 25, 2026
– Class 9 (boys only): April 26, 2026
These sessions are set from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the respective days.
Interim Answer Key and Objection Period
As per official guidelines, the provisional answer keys will be posted online on May 4. The period for submitting challenges runs until May 7. Those dissatisfied with the keys may file objections, paying a fee of Rs 100 for each questioned item.
Final Key Release and Outcome Announcement
The final answer key is slated for May 14, with results for the 2026 BHU SET expected in mid-June. Counseling for Class 9 is projected to start on June 20, while for Class 11, it begins around July 1. The admission window closes on July 15.
