The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his party’s inconsistent position on student demonstrations in Jharkhand. The party pointed out that those who sought to exploit the agitation in Delhi for political purposes have stayed silent on the current protests in the state.
The comments followed reports that thousands of job seekers, demonstrating against alleged irregularities in state recruitment exams, started marching toward the Jharkhand assembly on Monday morning.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh told reporters at the Parliament House complex that leaders who had tried to take control of the Delhi student movement through bus sit-ins and marches were now absent.
