On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inducted seven Rajya Sabha members from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) into its ranks. Analysts suggest this move will improve the party’s image among the public and bolster its position in negotiations for a potential alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal ahead of the 2027 Punjab assembly elections.
BJP leader Nitin Nabin shared on social media: ‘Today at the party headquarters, I welcomed Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, and Ashok Mittal to the BJP. I also extend my best wishes to Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Vikram Sahney, and Rajinder Gupta as they contribute under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi toward achieving a developed India by 2047.’
