A Central Bureau of Investigation team visited the home of former district judge Giribala Singh on Monday in connection with the Twisha Sharma dowry harassment case and carried out a reconstruction of events. The team used a dummy to collect evidence while the accused were present. A silent protest took place the previous day in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, calling for justice after Sharma died in Bhopal on May 12. Her family claimed she faced mental torture and dowry demands from her husband and in-laws. Sharma had married Samarth Singh in December 2025. The matter includes charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Dowry Prohibition Act. Her brother stated that the family believes the facts will emerge and noted widespread public support. The ashes of the victim were later immersed in the Ganga at Rishikesh. A district court in Bhopal granted the CBI five days of custody of the two accused for further questioning.
