The central government and the Cockroach Janata Party are scheduled to conduct their third round of discussions on Saturday. The meeting marks a key stage in the government’s handling of the NEET paper leak protests following several days of dialogue. Officials have accepted two of the party’s three main requests but requested additional time regarding the call for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to step down.

Security measures have increased throughout the capital due to ongoing demonstrations. Several Delhi Metro stations are shut, liquor outlets must close earlier than usual, and police have cancelled all regular leave to maintain full staffing.

The discussions follow notable developments over the past two days. Activist Sonam Wangchuk concluded his 26-day fast after receiving government commitments. The Union Cabinet cleared a proposed law that sets penalties of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 10 crore rupees for organised paper leak operations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced plans for fast-track courts to handle such cases.
