The Cockroach Janta Party has ended its 49-day protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and official promises to drop cases against demonstrators and organizers. The move followed three meetings between CJP representatives and government figures including ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das stated the action ends in good faith, with expectations that terms will be fulfilled on schedule. The protest started June 6 with demands for the minister’s resignation, withdrawal of all cases, and compensation of one crore rupees for families affected by the NEET paper leak. With the resignation accepted, the first demand was met. The party later confirmed on social media that nationwide action stops immediately after all demands were addressed, including maximum possible compensation for victims’ families, withdrawal of cases from central and state authorities, and no further measures against participants. Officials also agreed to review a five-point reform plan for exams. The government confirmed cases against protesters will be dropped, including those outside Delhi in allied states. Copies of the filings will be provided within days. A draft guarantee on case withdrawals and future protections was submitted, with response expected by Tuesday. The education reform charter will be examined, with follow-up talks in about four weeks. Compensation for affected families will follow applicable regulations.
