The founder of the Cockroach Janta Party apologized to supporters after a July 20 protest. He addressed claims that female participants were struck by officers. The statement expressed regret for failing to shield them from what he described as excessive force by Delhi Police. He added that the government had chosen to shield one minister rather than respond to student deaths and invited injured participants to reach him directly. Social media users criticized the apology and called for stronger security measures or arrests. Some accused the group of provoking disorder while others questioned whether the organizers had ignored prior police warnings. The organization alleged that officers used disproportionate force during a march toward Parliament. It reported injuries to several participants, including claims involving public figures and the wife of an activist. A spokesperson said one individual was dragged and others suffered head and rib injuries. The group maintained that the protest would continue until the Union Minister resigned. Delhi Police rejected the claims as inaccurate. Officials stated that no targeted assaults or specific incidents involving named individuals occurred and reported that around 70 people were detained after clashes in which both sides sustained injuries.
