Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday. He called it a victory for democracy and attributed it to weeks of protests by students and volunteers. Speaking at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Dipke noted that the move challenged the idea that ministers in the current government do not resign. He told supporters that Pradhan had stepped down and urged the crowd to continue the movement. Dipke outlined two remaining demands: compensation of one crore rupees for families of students who died by suicide and action against police officers involved in earlier protests. He also asked supporters not to focus on individuals but to keep attention on examination transparency and systemic reforms. The protests stemmed from alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Pradhan had announced plans for future exams to use a computer-based format. Celebrations followed the resignation announcement at the protest site and in other cities.
