A deep depression has developed near the northern coasts of Odisha and West Bengal. The India Meteorological Department predicts extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters within 24 hours across numerous areas of Odisha on Monday.

The department also anticipates significant precipitation in West Bengal on Monday and Tuesday. Wet weather is projected to persist until July 30 in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh, as well as eastern and western parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, Jagatsinghpur in Odisha recorded the highest rainfall at 330 millimeters over 24 hours. Comparable amounts are anticipated on Monday.
