Delhi Police on Thursday, July 23, 2026, stopped students traveling in autorickshaws near Nizamuddin and directed them to exit the vehicles to prevent them from reaching the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. Students in central Delhi reported being stopped roughly five kilometers from the site and denied further access. A police officer at the location stated that students heading to the protest were being stopped because Section 144, now Section 163 of BNSS, was in effect. The officer noted that the measure aimed to avoid potential injuries and that other vehicles and passengers traveling for different purposes were not being stopped.
