Delhi Police released a new traffic advisory on Saturday, asking people to steer clear of the New Delhi area because of severe congestion from student demonstrations over the claimed NEET paper leak.

In a statement on X, the police noted heavy crowds and traffic buildup across the district, recommending alternative routes to avoid delays.

The advisory follows continued large gatherings in central Delhi, with officials working to balance traffic control and public safety.

A day prior, police had urged residents to stay away from zones under prohibitory orders unless essential. They also instructed app-based ride services, food delivery platforms, logistics firms, and e-commerce operators to limit activities in restricted areas to reduce crowding and support safety.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation reopened entry gates at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations to aid commuters. The move follows earlier closures linked to the protests, offering an alternative amid road disruptions.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on Saturday after weeks of nationwide demonstrations over the alleged NEET irregularities. He posted the decision on X before planned government talks with CJP leaders. The CJP has organized rallies at Jantar Mantar with thousands of students seeking accountability for exam issues. In his statement, Pradhan accepted responsibility for the matter and expressed concern over recent events.
