A 10-year-old boy was taken to the Intensive Care Unit after a group reportedly entered a housing society in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-3 on Sunday evening, injuring about 10 to 15 residents. Locals said the clash started when some people objected to the alleged harassment of a young woman.

Witnesses stated that roughly 10 to 15 men entered the society and attacked residents, causing alarm in the neighborhood. The incident began when a few individuals stepped in after seeing the reported harassment. One of the accused allegedly returned with others, leading to an assault inside the complex.

Several people were hurt, including the boy, who suffered serious injuries and is still in intensive care. His family said he had gone with his 27-year-old cousin to take photos when the violence occurred.

The boy’s sister claimed the attackers carried stones and wooden sticks, one of which had nails. She added that the family saw only three people directly involved in the assault. One suspect is said to live in the Gharoli area of Mayur Vihar Phase-3, and photos of the person were given to Delhi Police.

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar questioned the law-and-order situation, noting a police outpost just 500 meters away. He visited the area Sunday night, spoke with residents, and urged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to arrest those responsible quickly.
