A first-year medical student was detained after a document reportedly listing instructions for making a bomb was discovered at Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College in Ayodhya. Officials stated the document was recovered from the X-ray room on Saturday by the department in charge. Police were notified right away and an investigation began. The event recalled the November 2025 Red Fort blast case, where three main suspects worked at Faridabad’s Al Falah University. Initial findings indicate the document was likely prepared by Sarfaraz, a first-year student on duty in the X-ray room on Friday night. Sarfaraz, from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh, is in custody for questioning. Two other staff members on duty with him are also being questioned. The handwritten note lists materials needed for an explosive, including gauge wire, ammonium carbonate, red phosphorus, red sulphide and nitric acid. Dr Arvind Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent, said police were informed immediately. The investigation continues and further steps will depend on its results, he added. Police have not yet confirmed any criminal intent and are examining all possibilities. The college has increased security and ordered a review of campus arrangements. The incident follows the dismantling of a Jaish-e-Mohammed module operated by staff at Al Falah University, uncovered after a car bomb exploded near Red Fort metro station on November 10, 2025, killing 15 people and injuring others.
