IPL cricketer Shashank Singh and his father, a retired IPS officer, face charges in Bhopal after their cook claimed he was beaten, verbally abused and pressured to send money when he asked for his phone back. The player has rejected the claims. Police at Ratibad station filed the case against Shashank, who represents Punjab Kings, his father Shailesh Singh and their driver. The complainant, Vipendra Singh Tomar, 31, from Rewa district, stated he had arrived in Bhopal three days earlier for the job at the family home through contacts.
