Police in Gautam Buddh Nagar stated on Tuesday that the extensive violent demonstrations over salary issues disrupting Noida’s industrial sector were orchestrated through online channels, including social media profiles, specific WhatsApp communities, and potentially a call center-style operation, as the inquiry progresses.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh indicated that the events suggest a deliberate, technology-based strategy instead of an impromptu reaction, with approximately 400 individuals detained to date.

She explained that an structured group is encouraging the employees and methodically advancing the situation. Over the last three to four days, various fabricated Twitter accounts and other online profiles have emerged.

This implies the possibility of a call center-type arrangement or coordinated tech usage to provoke disturbances, according to the commissioner.

Authorities report that the approach included swift online recruitment via several platforms. Multiple WhatsApp groups were established quickly, with participants allegedly joined through QR codes, enabling rapid expansion and preserving organizer anonymity.

The deployment of fresh social media profiles, unified communications, and private group interactions points to an organized network functioning covertly, she mentioned.

Law enforcement believes a broader coordinated group is involved secretly. The investigation is exploring funding origins and potential outside connections, including influences from beyond the state or internationally. The commissioner stated that they will follow the money trail, and if any foreign or interstate ties are discovered, suitable measures will be taken.

During the disturbances, the Uttar Pradesh administration has declared an increase in minimum wages for various worker levels, effective retroactively from April 1. In Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, unskilled laborers will now receive Rs 13,690 monthly, rising from Rs 11,313, while semi-skilled and skilled employees will get Rs 15,059 and Rs 16,868, respectively.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has encouraged businesses to provide prompt salary disbursements, appropriate overtime pay, regular days off, incentives, and social welfare provisions, along with secure work environments, particularly for female staff.
