The state’s Department of School Education and Literacy has issued a directive requiring students to spend at least 10 minutes reading Kannada newspapers each day, immediately following morning prayers. This applies to all government, aided, and private schools across the state. The rule also extends to residential schools, hostels, and child care facilities managed by various government agencies.
