Eight deaths have been confirmed in Kerala due to rain-related incidents after intense rainfall hit the state starting July 31, 2026, according to the Chief Minister’s office. Thirteen people were injured, 5,792 residents moved to 209 relief camps, 27 houses fully destroyed and 196 partially damaged. The government will provide aid to affected families who lost homes or livelihoods. The Chief Minister continues to coordinate with the Revenue Minister, district officials and administrations on damage assessment, though rainfall intensity has eased. Cleaning operations have begun in flooded zones, and the Chief Minister urged political workers and voluntary groups to assist. Vigilance remains advised in landslide-prone hilly areas.
